On Thursday we went to visit ‘Uncovered’ in DIT Grangegorman. This show was a mixture of creative work by the DIT students in Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Design and Visual Merchandising.

We met artist John Holmes in his space in the Fine Art Exhibition. John told us about how he made his interesting work using a combination of oil painting and photography. Austin commented on how the images looked deteriorated and distressed, and talked to teh artist about how he managed to achieved this effects. John also took this photo of us and very kindly emailed it along later. Thanks, John!

Here is John posing in one of the sample shop displays from the Visual Merchandising show. This display had an environmental theme and used fabric, artificial leaves and electric lights.

Above you can see Caroline posing by a high- fashion Visual Merchandising shop display. Purple and pink are her favourite colours, so it’s no surprise that this display was a hit.
